Done!

Done, done, done!!! Another one off the machine. I will mail this one and the nine-patch memory quilt off to my mom tomorrow. Now I can get going on the coffee quilt. I need to figure out a backing and check to make sure I have enough batting. I was planning on going to Joann's in Nashville this weekend but we ended up not going.

I think this red and brown quilt turned out cute. Hopefully my mom will like the back as much as I do!

Oh Sarah - I LOVE red and brown together! And this quilt is wonderful! I hope your mom loves it too!

Seems to me she should love any backing you do since she didn't have to do it herself. I love the nine-patch and the way some of the patches disappear into the background. Get your mom to work on her blog.

I do love any backing Sarah does, although at this point I would love to do one myself! We're building a house and living in a 28 ft. RV. I'm CRAVING being able to quilt! Every once in a while, if I find a few free hours, I drag everything out of storage and indulge in a little binge, but it's a major chore. I was able to do that a few nights ago, thanks to Bonnie... I have all my scraps neatly cut and stored... they make my fingers itch! My new home has a wonderful sewing room with two huge windows that look out onto the Tennessee woods... but before I can enjoy it, I have to paint and trim out the entire house! It's something we've wanted to do for about 35 years, so I guess quilting just has to be on the back burner for an older dream for a while. As for a blog... oh, me, I can't even think about it right now! But you are all very kind and creative and I enjoy reading yours!

Elizabeth, good luck with the house (ooooh, a sewing room!) and I look forward to seeing you back in quilting action once again.
