Another top in need of quilting!

My question for you today is : Is this quilt finished? Or does it need another border? Size-wise it is big enough to be finished, but I don't know if it looks finished.
What do you think?

I have plenty of fabric to put another border around it. What should I do?

Waiting anxiously for all of your opinions!

Current vote: 14 votes for adding a border

Thanks for all of the sweet comments!

I love the quilt, but I would add one more border to "stop" the design. I think a border would help make the blocks pop out of the quilt.

I think it definitely needs a border or 3!

I think it needs a border , the brown fabric you have is nice there...I would like to see a skinny border first of the bright blue fabric then the brown you have shown.
just mho!

You have to add a border. The colours in this quilt goes beautiful together.

I vote for a border too...it just needs that finishing touch. It's gorgeous!

Count me in for the border too. It will truly finish off the beautiful quilt.

I'd add a border too. I am a big fan of multiple borders. I'd probably add at least two if it were mine.

Hey sweetie!! Wow, didn't that turn out gorgeous? You should make a full-size quilt in these colors. I guess you're gonna do another border... I like that pale tan... maybe a tiny inner border of that just to keep the blocks from running off the page and then a larger border of the paisley. Sometimes I cut a strip of 1 1/4", fold it in half lengthwise and then sew it around the quilt- you don't flip and iron, but just add the next border. It looks a little like piping or a skinny inner mat- like with a framed picture. I'm sure it will look great, whatever you do- 'cause it already looks great!!! Love you!

It definitely needs another border and that paisley fabric looks like a great choice. Looking forward to see it ;o)

YES! Paisley too!

I like Nines' idea of a tiny little zinger border prior to the Paisley. Do you have any of the tan or maybe the blue solid-ish?

Doncha love when friends create more work for you?! Enjoy your sewing!

I think I'm in the for the border group. I also like the idea of a peeper in between the brown and the border. This will be really great either way.

The paisley is perfect! I would definately add that as your last border. Absolutely love the quilt!

I definately think you need a border. I think a double border would be cool. My favorite resource is "Pieced Borders: The Complete Resource" by Judy Martin & Marsha McCloskey.

I think some 4 patches just like the little turq & cream ones would be cool. I'd have it extend the cool diagonals you've got going. Then a solid border. And maybe instead of totally solid I'd have corner squares of a contrasting fabric like the Amish do.

Donna has always been a reader, and when she was up here last, I think she figured out how to post comments. Has it onlt been a year since you were here? Well, it does seem longer! Are you sure?

Do we have to drag the kids all over creation. Could we just sit and sew and chat and bake? Doesn't that sound like fun? I'm here to say that I'm thinking it'll be me wimping out of the traveling any further! I mean, I DID drive 1000 miles to see ya!

I think it is pretty as is, but that blue that is running through the quilt would look awesome in the border. The paisley fabric looks great because it ties both the blue and the brown.
