What I am (not) doing today

I was suprised to receive a phone call from Nines this morning. She calls me once in a blue moon (even she will admit this!). Usually I am the one that does the calling, but maybe she felt guilty because I had been trying to call her for three straight days with no success! Plus the fact that I have given her at least three 60 minute calling cards (HINT, HINT, HINT!!) In any case, I am always thrilled to hear from her.

Pretty early in the conversation, she asked what I was up to today. The above picture is today's only accomplishment. Puppy chow! Chex cereal covered in peanut butter and chocolate, then tossed with powdered sugar. Warning - it is highly addictive!! So I made a batch, sat myself down on the couch, and haven't moved since. I am still coughing and sound like a frog, so I may spend the day resting on the couch.

I was telling Nines about this quilt that I saw in the latest American Patchwork & Quilting magazine (June 2006). It made me think of her. In case you haven't heard, Nina loves ORANGE. This quilt reminds me of cantelope! It is made from five assorted pink tone on tones and five orange tone on tones.

Yummmm. I love those! A friend of mine gave me the recipe, but she called it "Trailer Trash".

I'm glad you explained the pic. I wouldn't have thought it was edible by humans. Sounds yummy. Like the soft look of the pictured quilt.

I saw that orange quilt in the magazine and remembered Nina liked orange. Isn't it cool how those blocks are the same size but they look different size because of how the colors are arranged! That is one orange quilt!

Our Books A Million still doesn't have the AP&Q magazine . . despite the ad that says it will be here April 4. There was another quilt in the ad that caught my eye but I really like that orange one too. And, it is ORANGE. Think how nice it would be in lime green! :)

I also loved this quilt, and one of my daughters loves orange too! She just got her own room and I thought this would be perfect, and not too complicated. I love those four quilts below, and can't believe you made them so quickly - what were the kids doing in the meantime? My favorite is the pink and brown - just fabulous, dahling, and excellent workmanship!
