Babies, babies every where!

My mom was kind enough to do the handwork on the binding for me! All that is left to do is the label. The baby shower is Saturday. I am also in charge of making one of my world famous diaper cakes, this time in blue.
My family left a day early. Ian woke up in the middle of the night with a belly ache and then had a sore throat this morning. My nephews and niece are not good sleepers when away from their own beds. So all of this added up to them packing up and leaving this morning. Me and Ian have had a very lazy day. Watching TV, surfing the net, taking a nap. DH is bringing home pizza for dinner.
I also came to the realization this afternoon that I do not want to get into the habit of making a quilt for each of the kid's teachers for the next twelve years. Maybe for exceptional teachers - we will see. That will be two less quilts hanging over my head. I want to quilt for fun, not because I feel like I have to. Is that too much to ask?
Better go get the drinks ready. Pizza will be here in a minute!

Quilting should absolutely be fun -- and nobody should simply "Expect" a quilt, so no, don't make them for every teacher unless you want to...

Good decision - once you start making quilts for those who "expect" one, it can make you resentful and like pixie said: it should be fun..But what I really want to know about is the diaper cake; do you have pictures? We have 2 grandbabies on the way so I'm on the lookout, lol.

Love your colors in this quilt... great job...Quilts are gifts from the heart... if your heart is not in it---don't do it....

I have the binding sewn onto the bones quilt, and I'm stitching it down! Thanks so much for doing it. It still looks like it's kind of un-balanced to me.. but you know the reason for that! And it does contain a lot of memories! I do love you!

And how come this blog looks different every time I log on?

That is a pretty baby quilt. I agree with you on not wanting to make a quilt for each of the teachers. Don't forget that when they get out of elementary school, they have more than one teacher! I've never made a quilt for a teacher for the same reason. Don't want to set up any expectations. I already did that with family members, who all want their own quilt, made to order.

Too right, Sarah! The quilt is lovely, beautiful combination of yellow blue and green.
