I hear you though, I have had someone who said she would put away the baby quilt in the closet for "safekeeping" and another person who kept her quilt outside in the sunlight to use as a porch swing blanket. <br />I keep telling myself that once you give away a gift, the person can do whatever they want to do with it. Oh I can't believe that I am going to say...Giggle. Oh I can't believe that I am going to say this out loud... First, I'm thinkin' that it's an inlaw thing... then I remember, no, some one of blood relation to you used a very pretty red quilt to keep the sun out of a room... fade city. I think you should limit your quilt giving to me. Yep, that would fix it. The girls are using my orange quilt on their bed- keeping it off the floor, I might add. But being used. And the wallhangings you have given me... yep, all hanging on the walls. You know, the joy is in the giving. There are some things you can't control- and some thing you need to let go!! Let it go, let it go, let it go. It'll only make you miserable. If you gave some one $100, would you need to tell them how to use it? Nope, that's what makes it a gift. Plus, the quilt you gave to DFiL will come back to you, someday, in mint condition. I am sure he was just so touched that you made it for him that he has gotten it's full value out of it. I can't say about the MIL- only that quilt was made from fabric that had plates on it- kinda makes sense to use it on a table... giggle. Ya gotta laugh- and you will as soon as they leave!!!! Love ya babe!Nineshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09888930053826285866noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15201022.post-81113746020279958832007-01-12T09:20:00.000-06:002007-01-12T09:20:00.000-06:00Isn't the validation great??

Maybe once she hears the price of the other one she will be more cautious.Joycehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17083924435653058457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15201022.post-70757373312101504722007-01-12T06:41:00.000-06:002007-01-12T06:41:00.000-06:00Your inlaws sound like an interesting pair.

I've given up on trying to explain that it was meant to be used ... and now I just add hanging sleeves to anything I make for them :-)sophiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13408822963659450038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15201022.post-31111891575975890112007-01-11T23:07:00.000-06:002007-01-11T23:07:00.000-06:00Good thing you have a sense of humor!
